Abstract :
The idea of focusing more on enterprise opportunities is used as an example for measuring the viscosity of information flow and acceptance within a large systems engineering organization. This work is motivated by apparent synergies between two current internal research projects involving a homeodynamics model from the medical field and organizational transformation ideas from the social dynamics field. A simple survey for characterizing the viscosity for this test case was used to establish an initial data baseline against which to measure future change. Also, relevant elements of organizational and individual behavior, including traits of high-performing members of work teams are introduced as a partial explanation for the preliminary results obtained
