Abstract
It is a fait accompli that heavy traffic analysis is a very powerful technique, which allows us to model the number of customers of a queueing system via a reflected diffusion (or a reflected Levy process). In this paper, we derive heavy traffic type theorems for queueing systems that receive either Markov modulated or independent positive and negative arrivals with general service and inter-arrival time processes.
