Abstract :
Smart antennas have become a promising technology for future mobile communication systems. They can effectively improve the performance of mobile communication systems. With smart antennas, channel modeling is an important issue for the design and performance analysis. In this article, we review some fundamental channel models that combine the time and spatial properties of mobile channels. Although channel models in which the parameters are based on measurement might be more closed to the real channel, we only discuss those models that completely or partially employ theoretical analyses. This is because the data obtained form measurement should only be applied to the associated environments and cannot be generalized
