Abstract :
With the development of a mobile ad hoc network (MANET), it needs network management to guarantee the network reliability and efficiency. However, the properties of a MANET are unique compared with other communication networks, hence, a new clustering algorithm with token mechanism and minimum ID putting the special existing unidirectional links and relative mobility etc. into consideration is proposed in this paper. It is applied to the network management of the mobile ad hoc network for clustering based on a hierarchical management framework including the manager, cluster heads and agents. We suggest a new method for mobile ad hoc network management. The amelioration to MIB is suggested as well
