Abstract :
Electrical compensation of optical fiber transmission related impairment, which is recognized as very important for high speed signal transmission, are discussed. A successful suppression of PMD-induced BER fluctuation in ultra-long distance transmission by the electrical equalizer is demonstrated as a feasibility study.
