Abstract
Such a nontrivial phenomenon as Ranque effect (effect of Ranque-Hilsh or eddy effect) is known from gas dynamics of eddy flows. This effect lies in that in eddy tubes of a rather simple geometry the gas flow falls into two flows. One is peripheral flow and it has a temperature, which is higher than the temperature of the initial gas. The second flow is the central one, and its temperature is accordingly lower. In the paper the laboratory-scale installation to research the Ranque-Hilsh effect is presented. Experimental results performed with this installation are analyzed
