Abstract :
In this study two adaptive admission control algorithms are proposed. They aim at offering the negotiated quality of service (QoS) in downlink, at least to a fixed percentage of real time users, by acting on admission control (AC) parameters. Simulation results, obtained in a mixed real time and non real time users scenario, confirm the effectiveness of the algorithms in recovering from critical QoS conditions and suggests that, the proposed approach could be generalised and applied, in the future, to help the network operator in the time consuming, and possibly ineffective, manual tuning of AC parameters.
