Abstract :
Routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) is used for contention resolution for optical burst switching (OBS) network from the view point of load balancing. And gradient projection method is adopted to select the most suitable route for the new arrival burst. Besides the analytical model of Gradient Projection based RWA algorithm (GP-RWA), the implement procedures of GP-RWA with Just in Time (JIT) and Just Enough Time (JET) resource reservation protocol are given. To verify the effectiveness of both GP-RWA-JIT and GP-RWA-JET, simulations have been done under the various traffic models when compared with the RWA algorithm which adopts the shortest path (SP) routing scheme and first-fit (FF) wavelength assignment scheme.
