Abstract :
This paper evaluates the microscopic behavior of raindrops at 19.5 GHz, based on the Mie scattering approach. The results show that there is more attenuation at raindrop diameters less than 1.5 mm due to absorption by rain at millimetric frequencies in Durban, while above this, there is greater attenuation due to scattering.
