Abstract :
An efficient thyristor switching circuit generates 1.1 kJ magnet pulses. A 1 - cos ωt current rise of typically 2 ms is adjustable in magnitude and duration. It is followed by a 100 ms flattop and a 1 + cos ωt current decrease.
