Abstract
A low complexity receiver structure involving reduced-state sequence estimation (RSSE) is presented in this paper that investigates the issues and the trade-off between performance and complexity when using RSSE. The proposed method uses oversampling and is capable of equalization of the standard GSM channel models with a low complexity of 4 trellis states.
