Abstract :
For the brushless DC drive, the most vulnerable elements are the motor armature winding and the power semiconductor elements, which feed, the winding. The winding and the power transistors fail under the long influence of the high currents or of the overvoltages. In practice only one energy transmission channel (that is either the one phase´s winding of stator, or the one arm of the power converter, that feeds the one phase winding) fails in modern three-phase brushless DC drives. This paper discusses drive reliability measures. In this paper it is shown that the necessity of guaranteeing of the electric drive capacity for work in emergency caused the choice of the microprocessor control system of the brushless DC motor with feeding of each phase from the individual converter
