Abstract :
This paper proposes a class of hybrid dual-operating-mode pulse-width-modulation based sliding mode controllers for DC-DC converters functioning in both the continuous and discontinuous conduction modes. The controllers are simplified hybrid combinations of sliding mode controllers designed for the continuous conduction mode and sliding mode controllers designed for the discontinuous conduction mode. It is shown through computer simulation that the proposed controllers can be employed to provide good voltage regulation in DC-DC converters functioning in both operating modes
