A Good Example for E-governance of Nature Reserve - Digital Jiuzhaigou Project

Jiuzhai Valley or Jiuzhaigou National Park is located in Sichuan Province, South Western China, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. It has very good value of tourism development and scientific research. In order to enable a more effective protection, management and development, the Jiuzhaigou Administration Bureau has long started an integrated digital management project, Digital Jiuzhaigou. This project covers resources conservation, management & operation, tourism service & marketing, industry consolidation, etc. Great changes have taken place in the administration & management of the Jiuzhaigou since the initiation of this comprehensive e-government platform. This article is an individual case study of the management of Jiuzhaigou. It makes an analysis of the changes brought to the administration by the Digital Jiuzhaigou Project and draws a conclusion about management modes of info-tech-based environment and harmonization of natural resources protection & development.
