Abstract :
It is an important tool for content-based image retrieval (CBIR) to do retrieval by using color feature. When someone retrieval an image, he or she can use a variant of color spaces, which have different advantages. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of color space used by MPEG-7 color layout descriptor. HSV is used instead of the original color space according to the nature of the human visual system. Contrastive Experiment shows that the modified method increased retrieval efficiency greatly.
