Abstract :
We calculate the reflectance of p waves incident onto photonic crystal structures made of thin metal films as a function of the incident angle, in the Otto configuration. As the number of periods becomes large, the reflectance curve converges to a smooth curve with two broad dips associated with surface plasmons.
