Abstract :
We all know that food is essential to maintain life and health for normal metabolic activities can only be ensured by having a plenty of healthful food. But recently, the frequent food safety crises in China, such as dioxin, sudan red, melamine, waste oil, lean meat powder, and staining steamed buns, etc. have involved a wide varieties of food and had strong hazardness, which has made people doubt that "what can we eat now in China?" In view of these frequent crises emerging in food safety, this paper, based on theories of Government Failure and Market Failure, first isllustrates the current situation of China\´s food safety crisis management, then analyses the causes of crises, and finally proposes that on the basis of strengthening government regulation, non governmental organizations such as food industry associations and consumer organizations should be used to their full potential in prevention of food safety crisis, and fostering corporations\´ sense of responsibility to prompt government-society-corporation to form a good crisis prevention mechanism and provide our food safety prevention system with some policy advices.
