Abstract :
This paper describes the partial discharge characteristics of SF 6/N2 and SF6/gas+N2 mixtures. In the latter mixtures 1% of triethylamine, trichlorotrifluoroethane (R113), tetrachloroethylene, perfluorocarbons and N2 with SF6 gas is implemented. The addition of N2 gas to these mixtures show different measurements of partial discharge level. The N2 synergism in the gas mixtures is also discussed. These experimental investigations era carried out in a non-uniform field under an a.c. applied voltage condition
