Abstract
In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy PID controller is designed to improve the control performance of the resistance furnace, and then is applied to a remote temperature control system based on modbus/TCP industrial Ethernet via OPC communication. The adaptive PID controller is developed by the fuzzy toolbox in Matlab. The data acquisition and devices driving are realized by PCAuto, a SCADA configuration software which is widely used in industry. The data exchange between Matlab and PCAuto is realized by OPC technology. The control process and results verify that the performance of resistance furnace temperature control system is satisfactory and the performance of OPC communication is very efficient and reliable.
