Abstract :
Prebreakdown phenomena in n-hexane and cyclohexane are studied numerically by using the two-dimensional finite element method (FEM). In this study, the streamer propagation is considered as a generation of a gas bubble in the liquid. The model of a point-plane geometry (non-uniform field) is presented to simulate the streamer growth and the positive and negative streamer velocities are calculated. The obtained results shoved a good agreement with the published experimental results
