Abstract :
In this letter, a screen-printed LaB6 discontinuous film is coated on MgO thin film to improve the discharge properties of MgO protective layer in alternating current plasma display panel (AC PDP). High transmittance of is obtained by adjusting the concentration ratio of polycrystal LaB6 powders and organic solvent of screen-printed slurry. The LaB6/MgO double protective layer almost shows lower firing voltage and shorter discharge delay time than conventional MgO protective layer, likely owing to the low work function of LaB6. Therefore, it is highly suitable to be applied for AC PDP with low electrical power consumption.
