Abstract :
In recent years, there has been a growth on numerical methods to solve the so called direct problem: find the scattered fields in and outside of a body for a given incident wave. On the other hand, on the simulation process of the inverse problem, to obtain the body permittivity map from multiview scattered fields measurements, and in some of the reconstruction algorithms, there is a need to solve the direct problem for many different incident directions. The majority of algorithms only give the solution for a single incident direction, then they have to be rerun for each view, increasing the computational cost of inverse algorithms. The GRATMA allows to obtain a multiview solution of the scattered fields outside and the diffracted ones inside the body. In this paper, the GRATMA algorithm has been applied to solve the direct problem on the biological case and some results are presented showing, in comparison with the CGM-FFT algorithms, the excellent behaviour of GRATMA code for both the TM and TE bidimensional cases. Results with metallic objects are also presented.
