Abstract
Based on the possibility measure, necessity measure, and credibility measure, the optimistic and pessimistic values of fuzzy variable have been introduced for handling optimization problems in fuzzy environments. In this paper, some new properties of optimistic and pessimistic values of fuzzy variables are investigated. As an illustration, the optimistic and pessimistic values of a trapezoidal fuzzy variable are formulated.
