Abstract :
The fleet assignment is a key factor affecting the operating costs of an airline. In this paper, we address the fleet assignment problem (FAP) in which the flight route is taken into account. On the basis of the analysis of the airlinepsilas cost structure and the space and time method, a more comprehensive mathematical model with regard to the hub-and-spoke network is provided. In the model, not only the classic cost construct of airline but also the spill cost and the recapture revenue are considered. Besides the new model for FAP, the corresponding program is also introduced and the computation results are reported in the end.
