Abstract :
Spectrum sensing is expected to be one of key problems in cognitive UWB networks. For a constant CUWB terminators, the more detection time, the less spectrum sensing terminators are needed in order to maintain a target probability of detection, the lower of the spectrum sensing users´ average throughput, the higher throughput of the others, while the less detection time, the more spectrum sensing terminators are needed, the higher average throughput of the spectrum sensing users, the lower of the others´ throughput, therefore there is a tradeoff. In this paper, under the constraint that the licensed users are sufficiently protected, the impacts of sensing time and the number of the spectrum sensing users on total throughput in cooperative spectrum sensing are discussed. Through simulation, the optimum numbers of spectrum sensing users and sensing time are got, which can help the CUWB terminators improve the total throughput and utilize the licensed frequent bands more effective.
