Abstract :
A series compensated transmission system and a HVDC transmission system with supplemental subsynchronous damping controller (SSDC) were considered for eigenvalue analysis. Damping conservation is analyzed when series compensation level is varied in a series compensated transmission system. Damping conservation is also analyzed when the gain of SSDC is varied in an HVDC transmission system. In this paper, the way how the damping changes at various oscillation modes will be demonstrated.
