Abstract :
In this paper, a new integral-proportional controller based control method using sinusoidal signal integrator (SSI) controller is proposed to control the shunt active filters. In the proposed technique, the harmonic components is transferred to the synchronous rotating reference frame with +ω and -ω rotation speeds and the output signals are applied to controllers tuned at 6, 12, and 18 times of the fundamental frequency. Therefore, it is possible to detect odd harmonic components exist in negative and positive sequences. One of the advantageous of the proposed technique in compare with other methods applying SSI is complete detection of odd harmonics in positive and negative sequences and consequently, the compensation process can be completely accomplished, particularly on loads the harmonics sequence is important. The advantageous of the proposed technique over the conventional approaches is confirmed by presenting simulation results in PSCAD/EMTDC.
