Abstract :
This paper examines issues related to the distribution system reliability improvement using photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected system. An experimental setup is prepared to measure the system operating characteristics. The system consists of a PV array and a grid-connected inverter. The system is synchronized to a distribution system where rear and reactive power are being injected. The measured data are used to investigate the effects of a PV system installation on distribution system reliability. A PV system installation scheme is proposed to alleviate tie switch loading after fault isolation. The system constraints such as, recovered real power, and loading reduction of the tie switch are concentrated
