Abstract :
In this paper, the authors show how a simple power convertor structure with vector control and synchronised modulation of both the load side and the line side inverters will minimise the size of the DC link capacitor at a certain maximal acceptable DC link voltage ripple. The DC link capacitor can be made small enough to be of a plastic type, not electrolytic, which increases the lifetime of the power converter
