Abstract
The average error probability of a cellular wide-band DS-CDMA system with DPSK modulation over Nakagami fading channels is analyzed. The results with varying parameters are applied to different fading environments. To simplify the evaluation of the interference out of the cell-of-interest, concentric circles are employed in place of the common hexagonal cellular model. It is shown that accounting for two layers of interfering cells is sufficient for the performance analysis of a wide-band system if the path loss exponent equals to 4
