Abstract :
Basic implementation of a series transistor array for RMS output control of an AC voltage regulator has been discussed in the past and the basic technique could be easily enhanced to incorporate the harmonic control, surge, noise and spike suppression at low cost. In an era where power quality is a serious concern, fully solid state implementation of a power conditioner with high overall efficiency will have an important commercial value. The authors describe how SPICE simulation could be utilized to predict the performance of additional circuit blocks for harmonic control and the comparison of experimental results with simulation results
