Abstract :
A global optimization technique is presented for fast evaluation of material properties such as scalar and complex magnetic permeability, scalar and complex electric permittivity and electric conductivity. The quasi-TEM propagation model through an infinite shield is applied to evaluate the cost function which a genetic algorithm uses to find the optimal solution represented by the effective frequency dependence of the material properties.
