Abstract :
Shield tunneling machine is a large and complicated equipment for underground construction. Hydraulic thrust system is one of the important parts of shield machine. Two different hydraulic thrust systems are illustrated in this paper. Analysis of working principles of the two systems is done first. Then explanations of thrust pressure regulation mode and advancing speed regulation mode are given, that are the two excavation mode of shield tunneling machine. A simulation and discussion of excavation in a mixed face geological condition are done at last, which will show the system performances and behaviors of the two systems.
