Abstract :
A substantially low-threshold, laser-diode-array pumped, acousto-optic Q-switched and nonlinear- mirror mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser is demonstrated with enhanced efficiency. For 10 W of pump power, a peak power of 719 kW is obtained for mode-locked pulses of width 11.5 ps, which is a marked improvement compared to the earlier reports.
