Abstract :
This paper presents numerical simulations comparing the field uniformity properties of two different stirrer designs in the Saab Avionics mode stirred reverberation chamber. It is demonstrated that the modified stirrer design indeed exhibits improved field uniformity, thus allowing for testing at lower frequencies as well as for testing of larger equipment. Also, employing the massive amount of output data, the difficulties in finding a useful method to evaluate the chamber performance at low frequencies can be demonstrated. Some results regarding the influence of the chamber Q-value are finally shown.
