  • Abstract
    Phase angle (the phase shift between stator voltage and current waveforms) of induction motors has been proposed as a control means under steady state conditions. Although the above approach is useful, it is desirable to maintain field orientation under dynamic conditions for a high performance drive. This paper describes a new phase angle control strategy for voltage fed induction motors, suitable for field orientation under dynamic conditions. As discussed by the authors, this approach has useful features which make it worthy of further investigation
