            Abstract : 
By utilizing 2timesN arrayed waveguide gratings, we demonstrate a novel protection architecture for WDM-PON employing colorless optical network units (ONU). The recovery time against the feeder fiber failure was less than 8 ms and the degradation in signal quality caused by the protection process was negligible.
