Performance analysis of induction motor large variable speed drives

The paper illustrates a test program implemented to verify the performances of the variable speed drive, and examines a few problems associated with the measurement of nonsinusoidal electric quantities. More specifically, as regards static tests, the quantities of interest have been defined. As far as the dynamic tests are concerned, the hardest stresses due to the electrical and mechanical transients appearing on the specific plant have been identified. The tests completion will allow sharpening and validation of the tests program which intends to provide a contribution to define a reference regulation
