Abstract :
A high efficiency DC/DC converter for low output voltage/high output current applications is proposed in this paper. To substantially enhance efficiency, a current-doubler synchronous rectifier is combined with the asymmetrical half-bridge converter retaining inherent zero voltage switching property. Power losses of the primary switches and the secondary rectification stage can be significantly reduced. The detailed operating principles of the developed converter are described and analyzed in this paper. Simulation and experimental results for a laboratory prototype are discussed to verify the feasibility.
