Abstract :
This paper studied the characteristics of bus serving process, explored the way passengers cognize and perceive the bus service, as well as their response to information conditions. A multi agent based model was proposed for the purpose of simulating bus serving process and estimating performance of single-route bus service, which is described by an introduction of the simulation platform, SimCUBE. A case study of a regular bus line in Shanghai, China was conducted, simulation results showed a good convergence of passenger agents´ cognition. Finally, prospective application of the model and future work were discussed.
