Abstract :
We demonstrated a spot size converter integrated electroabsorption modulator associated with dual waveguide structure, which showed the optical insertion loss of -8 dB, the extinction ratio of 14 dB. The electrical S11 was smaller than -12 dB and S21 was larger than -2.6 dB up to the 60 GHz. The alignment tolerance with the additional 3 dB loss was plusmn2.95 mum for horizontal and plusmn2.75 mum for vertical directions.
