Abstract :
Presents a new family of non-parametric and parametric estimation methods for the frequency delay of arrival (FDOA) between two sensor signal measurements. The new family of FDOA estimation methods utilizes the fourth-order cumulants or trispectra of the two measurements. Since the new FDOA estimation methods handle the problem in higher-order statistics (HOS) domain, they suppress the effect due to correlated Gaussian noise sources. The authors present and compare the performance of the new fourth-order statistics-based methods against an existing method based on the cross-ambiguity function through computer simulations
