  • Abstract
Analysis of active antennas is becoming increasingly important. Slot antennas are frequently used as active antennas integrated with converters or transmitters-oscillators. In that case printed slots are usually fed by coplanar waveguides (CPW) on a substrate lens, that is, very thick dielectric substrate. So far, the characteristics of slot antennas on thick (half-space) dielectric material have been evaluated using the space domain integral equation (SDIE). The present paper introduces a new, very simple and exact method for analysing slot antennas on half-space material. Complementary-duality was used to transform the slot on the half-space dielectric material to a wire dipole embedded in magnetic material. Results obtained are almost identical with those obtained with SDIE.
