Abstract :
We propose a technique for analyzing and identifying the source of acoustic noise caused by electromagnetic disturbances. It is based on formant analysis, which is known as a speech recognition technique. We applied this technique to the analysis of acoustic noise, and found that the technique is feasible for classifying acoustic noise. Our technique can automatically distinguish acoustic noise from switching power supplies, power lines, dedicated lines, and TV/radio broadcasts.
