Abstract :
Generation of X-ray laser in femtosecond domain is obtainable employing "all-optical" Thomson backscattering scheme. In this scheme, a high-quality electron beam trapped at the sharp plasma density-transition is accelerated to high-energy in short distance by plasma wakefield, which then collides with a counter-propagating laser to produce backscattered ultra-short X-ray pulses.
