Abstract
This paper presents a fixed-to-variable variation of the Ziv-Lempel code called “FVLZ code”, and clarifies its asymptotic performance with respect to a non-probabilistic model for constrained sources proposed by Ziv and Lempel (1977). It is shown that the FVLZ code has almost the same asymptotic performance as the Ziv-Lempel code
