Abstract :
Hybrid systems are described, which have been used in image processing, radar signal processing and pattern recognition. The basic construction and function of the hybrid systems are introduced. There are two types of hybrid systems in principle, which are described in the paper. One of them is based on optical power spectrum measurements, the Fourier power spectrum has some unique properties which make it suitable for various signal processing tasks. Another type of hybrid system is based on spatial filtering and has been applied to pattern recognition and image processing
