Abstract :
This paper highlights the technologically advanced web i.e. Internet. The Internet consists of high speed data lines converted by fast RISC-processor-based packet routers. The access rates vary between 2400 bps and 19 kbps, if connected by a telephone and a modem. Services that are available in the web such as electronic commerce, just in time manufacture, education, health care and electronic malls are in great demand. One much talked about development is multimedia, and cyberspace with ATM is the key to easing the transaction of LAN emulation over an ATM infrastructure. India is gearing itself to be one of the advanced countries to build an information highway with the help of major service providers like VSNL and NIC. Despite the great increase in cheap information, we are caught in an information paradox which is due to the complexity and incompleteness of the existing set of information. The ultimate impact of the information revolution on our society is such that no one will be able to predict the outcome
