Abstract :
This work proposes an integration of smart cards into a residential gateway. The aim is to extend services offered by the gateway with the functionalities provided by the smart card. Thanks to this integration, functionalities like cryptographic services, secure payments for pay-per-view or environment´s customization can be made available. The core of this work has been carried out in order to achieve an integration for two existing technologies: The open services gateway initiative (OSGi) and Java card
