Abstract
The effects of different molecules on inducing the multi-drug resistant bacteria to apoptosis and reversing their multi-drug resistance are a prevalent topic in the sciences. In this report we have explored the possibility to utilize a new carborane-ferrocene derivative in recognizing and inhibiting the growth of clinical multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogenic bacteria. The results illustrate the specific interaction between the new carborane-ferrocene derivative and bacteria, which can readily induce bacteria cell apoptosis and inhibit the growth of the drug-resistant bacteria like staphylococcus aureus.
